Gift Reggie App URLs
All Gift Reggie App URLs are located under /apps/giftregistry and will automatically take on the styling of your store out of the box.
/apps/giftregistry: Front facing landing page where customers will have the option to Find, Create or Manage their registries.
/apps/giftregistry/registry/#: This is where your customers' registry sits. The # in the address represent the registry's unique ID number in our system.
/apps/giftregistry/find: This section deals with searching for a registry. Customers can search by either first name or last name of either the registrant or the co-registrant. Names do not have to match exactly; for example, typing in as a last name "Bro" will match both "Brown" and "Browster". Presents a list of registries that match the criteria.
/apps/giftregistry/create: Presents a form for your customers to fill out with information regarding their registry. Note that the user must be logged in to use this page. If they are not logged, they will be redirected to the registration page, so they may create a new account, or login.
/apps/giftregistry/manage: Presents a list of registries that this account is currently managing. Any registry that an account creates will be subsequently displayed here. If a customer is not logged in, this page will redirect to the customer login page.
/apps/giftregistry/wishlist: Wishlist Integration must be turned on. Presents a simple button that allows customers to create their own wish lists. If the customer is not logged in, they will be redirected to the login page. When the user opens a wish list, they will be redirected to their wish list's page.
/apps/giftregistry/wishlist/#: Wishlist Integration must be turned on. This is where your customer's wish list sits. The # in the address represent the wishlist's unique ID number in our system.
Registries
Registries contain a large amount of data about the customer that created the registry, and the event that the registry is for. It also contains a list of the product variants in your store, including the quantity the registrant wants, has and still needs.
Creating Registries: There are two ways to create a registry. Customers can go to /apps/giftregistry/create on your site, and Registries can also be created by the retailer on the backend of Gift Reggie under the Registries tab, and click "Click here to add a registry to this list".
Adding Product to Registry: Your customers can add products to their registries on your product pages after you've added an 'Add to Registry' button through our product section.
Store owners can also add products to the registry by accessing the registry through the Gift Reggie dashboard.
Purchasing from Registries: When a customer navigates to a registry's public page, their cart is automatically tagged with that registry's ID which will appear on the order once the order is processed.
When a customer checks out, Gift Reggie will automatically deduct the ordered quantity of the item from the registry's listing. Please allow a few minutes for the adjustment to be made. It will also add the order to the "Registry Purchase History", located on the registry's managed page. If any Email and Notification options on Gift Reggie's Preferences page are enabled. Anything that the customer ordered that is not on the registry will be skipped, and assume that they are personal purchases, not intended for the registry.
Registry Status: Only 'Open' registries are considered 'active'. Your pricing plan will be based on these registries only. Registries can be in 2 different status states:
- Open: Available to the public and the retailer.
- Closed: Based on the time limit set by the retailer. Only available to the retailer.
Registries can only be closed by the retailer, on the backend of Gift Reggie. Once closed, they will no longer be visible to the public, nor will they count against your total number of billable registries. Please note, that although the public will not be able to view the registry, as an admin, you can still access it and re-open it, if necessary.
Wishlists
Please note: Wish lists are not enabled in Gift Reggie by default. To enable wishlists, please see "Wishlist" under the Preferences section.
Wish lists are simpler versions of registries, and are suited more for personal use. There is no order monitoring, expiration, status, customer data or cart tagging with wish lists; it is the responsibility of the user to remove items from their wish list when it has been purchased.
Wish lists cannot be closed; they can only be created or deleted. Once a wish list is deleted, it is gone forever; there is no way to recover the data.
Creating Wish Lists: To create a wish list, the customer simply has to go to /apps/giftregistry/wishlist, and click the "Create Wishlist" button.
Populating Wish Lists: We recommend adding the 'Add to Wish List' button (as demonstrated here) to each of your product pages using our wish list snippet.
Deleting Wish Lists: To delete a wish list, the customer just has to go /apps/giftregistry/wishlist, and click the "Delete Wishlist" button.
You can administer wish lists from the Wishlists tab.
Auto-Fill Shipping Information
Gift Reggie will auto-fill a registry's shipping information on the checkout page, if a client is purchasing their merchandise through the /apps/giftregistry/registry/# page. In order for this to work, go to your shop's checkout settings page. Scroll down to the section labelled "Order processing". Uncheck the "Use the billing address as the shipping address by default" box and "Save changes".
Checkout Button
For the Auto-Fill to work, you'll also need to replace your theme's default checkout button.
To do this Go to Theme Customization -> App Embeds -> Expand Registry and Wishlist ->Checkout Button Selector and then add checkout button class name here.
Customizing Gift Reggie
Gift Reggie can be customized in a ton of different ways. Because it integrates directly into your Shopify store, it automatically takes on the styling of your site. We've minimally styled the front-end system, by design, so that it's easy to alter and modify.
CSS Styling: Gift Reggie can be styled via CSS. You can modify the CSS by going to Preferences -> Settings -> Store Integration -> CSS Integration section.
Content Customization: If you're looking to do a bit more than styling, like reworking the functionality, or content of any of Gift Reggie's pages, this can be easily done by going to Preferences -> Templates, in the top menu bar. This will let you completely customize Gift Reggie's look. Please note that this feature is only available on the Professional plan or higher.
Advanced Customization: If you would like to do any further customization that you just can't do with CSS or our template editor, we offer design and development services. For a quote, please contact us at gift-reggie@eshopadmin.com.
